Do you or a family member experience recurrent, persistent and unwelcome thoughts about contamination?
Do you or a family member have a strong urge to wash your hands and clean your surroundings?
Do you or a family member avoid coming into contact with objects that may be dirty?
If you answered yes to these questions, you AND your family member may qualify to participate in a study being conducted in the Emotion and Anxiety Research Lab at Vanderbilt University on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Details
Purpose: to understand how the brain processes emotion
in OCD
Description: The study will take about 3 hours to
complete and pays $80 for full participation to both you
and your family member. Tasks include a brief interview,
questionnaires, and a scan of your brain will be taken using
an MRI.
Eligibility criteria:
- One participant WITH OCD and one unaffected
relative willing to participate - NONE of the following conditions:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Bipolar disorder
- Attention-Related Disorders (ADHD)
- Substance Abuse
- Pervasive Developmental Disorder
- Psychotic Disorder
