Study on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Do you experience recurrent, persistent and unwelcome thoughts about contamination?

Do you have a strong urge to wash your hands and clean your surroundings?

Do you avoid coming into contact with objects that may be dirty?

If you answered yes to these questions, you may qualify to participate in a study being conducted in the Emotion and Anxiety Research Lab at Vanderbilt University on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Purpose: to understand how the brain processes emotional associations in OCD.

Description: The study will take about 2.5 hours to complete and pays $60 for full participation. Tasks include a brief interview, questionnaires, and scan of your brain will be taken using an MRI.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Diagnosis of OCD
  • Do not have any of the following conditions

-traumatic brain injury (TBI)

-bipolar disorder

-attention-related disorders (e.g., ADHD)

-substance abuse

-pervasive developmental disorder

-psychotic disorder
